Bill Dow
Bill Dow in Stargate!

Bill Dow Bill Dow - who was already playing a recurring character in the very popular science-fiction show "X-Files" - joined the Stargate team when X-Files was about to end. Playing a very small part in the fourth season in 2001 (episode 4.19, "Prodigy") Bill’s character gained popularity and he now is a recurring guest star on this extremely popular show.

Two years after his first performance he was called again to come back on the show to play the character of Dr. "Bill" Lee - a scientist specializing in alien technologies. In that episode (6.15, "Paradise Lost") he has words with Amanda Tapping, arguing with her after colonel O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) was reported missing. Some months later his character shows up again, this time with Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) in "Evolution, part 1 & 2", episodes during which guerilleros in Amazonia make him prisoner with Jackson. This 2-part episode actually brings the character of Dr. Lee into the Stargate saga and it was one of the most popular season 7 episodes together with the final one "The Lost City".

He is called again some weeks later to shoot the episode "Resurrection" where along with Christopher Judge (Teal'c) they must dismantle an alien bomb. His career on Stargate will not end this season: even if the show was foreseen to end at season 7, another 8th season has been shot. Hence he has been called again and this time he will working with the last member of SG-1 but not the least, Richard Dean Anderson.

Stargate, beginning its ninth season in July 2005, has welcomed Bill back to portray Dr. Lee once again. Bill’s fans love to seeing him appear on the screen, it’s like a little added bonus for Stargate fans. Doctor Lee, with his simple behaviour, is an awkward and spontaneous character, who’s also funny and brings an undeniable charm to this sci-fi show.

Stargate SG-1 isn't the only show of the franchise where Bill has played, you can see him reprising his role in a few episodes of Stargate Atlantis such as "Critical Mass" or "The Return, Part 1 & 2".
